Responsibilities

  • Develop customer engagement and technical adoption strategies with Account Executives, Solutions Architects, specialists, partners, and customer teams.
  • Lead discovery, requirements gathering, solution scoping, architecture design, workshops, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and implementation planning.
  • Design end-to-end Databricks solutions on AWS, Azure, and GCP for automotive and manufacturing use cases.
  • Build tailored demos, prototypes, reference architectures, migration plans, how-to materials, and other customer-facing assets.
  • Advise customers and internal teams on data, analytics, machine learning, generative AI, architecture, and Databricks adoption.
  • Influence technical practitioners, manufacturing leaders, and C-level executives by connecting technical decisions to business value.
  • Coach account teams and peers on positioning, use-case prioritization, adoption strategies, and execution plans.
  • Integrate Databricks with cloud services, enterprise platforms, and third-party applications.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Services, Customer Success, Partners, Marketing, Sales, and Field Engineering.
  • Lead workshops, seminars, meetups, and other technical community activities in Japan.

Requirements

  • Experience in technical pre-sales, consulting, technical architecture, or an equivalent customer-facing technical role.
  • Technical background in data engineering, data warehousing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or related fields.
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Hands-on experience delivering complex proof-of-concepts and technical demonstrations.
  • Ability to code in Python or SQL and willingness to learn or deepen knowledge of Apache Spark.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data platforms, distributed data systems, analytics, machine learning, generative AI, or modern cloud architectures.
  • Ability to develop specialized technical solutions, navigate competitive environments, influence decision-makers, and orchestrate cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers and building trusted relationships with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, whiteboarding, storytelling, collaboration, and customer-engagement skills.
  • Business-professional fluency in Japanese; business-level English proficiency is preferred.
  • Preferred experience with automotive manufacturers, suppliers, industrial companies, transportation providers, or mobility businesses.
  • Preferred familiarity with vehicle platforms, connected vehicles, telemetry, smart factories, industrial IoT, supply-chain analytics, quality and warranty analytics, engineering and R&D, aftersales, EVs, or battery analytics.
  • Preferred experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, MLflow, Delta Lake, lakehouse architectures, or comparable data and AI platforms.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring technical professionals or account teams and relevant Databricks, cloud, or data certifications are preferred.
