Responsibilities

  • Enhance and optimize the upstream Linux kernel's IOMMU capabilities for AMD EPYC CPUs in bare-metal and virtualization environments.
  • Design and develop core CPU and SoC features for the Linux kernel and related open-source projects.
  • Drive features and functionality with partner technical teams and the Linux kernel community.
  • Review code, build unit tests, and write detailed technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and device-driver teams across global locations.
  • Support solutions delivered by partner companies and lead collaborative technical approaches.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of Linux kernel development experience.
  • Deep operating-systems knowledge and proven leadership in Linux kernel development and processes.
  • Expert knowledge of the Linux IOMMU community and open-source software development workflows.
  • Strong C and x86 assembly programming skills for operating-system kernel and systems development.
  • Deep understanding of operating-system concepts, data structures, and at least one general-purpose processor architecture.
  • Knowledge of x86-64 architecture.
  • Experience with BIOS, UEFI, or firmware is advantageous.
  • Exposure to VFIO and KVM/QEMU, including x86-64 virtualization extensions, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the GNU toolchain and Git is a bonus.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or computer engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
