Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, development, testing, and maintenance of embedded and application software for GoLINC rail products.
  • Drive software architecture, design decisions, technology adoption, and implementation plans for strategic initiatives.
  • Translate product and system requirements into robust software designs.
  • Review and approve software design documents, technical specifications, and implementation details.
  • Resolve complex system-level issues and performance bottlenecks while ensuring scalable, maintainable, secure solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, guidance, and knowledge sharing to software engineers.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Systems Engineering, Test Engineering, and cross-functional software teams.
  • Drive complex technical initiatives and influence technical decisions across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or MCA.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with significant real-time embedded software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on C and C++ experience in embedded, multitasking, and multithreaded environments.
  • Experience with QNX, embedded Linux, communication protocols, embedded control systems, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
  • Experience with Python, Shell scripting, software configuration and change management, automated testing, and unit testing.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices and familiarity with Agile development, Scrum, and iterative development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
  • Preferred experience includes rail transportation, safety-critical software development, CENELEC, IEC 61508, EN 50128, edge computing, telemetry, diagnostics, connected-device platforms, and system-level architecture reviews.
  • Preferred hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Microsoft Copilot.
