Lead Software Engineer – DevOps/SRE/AWS/EKS

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Kubernetes EKS and ECS.
- Automate remediation of recurring issues and improve operational stability.
- Develop and maintain Terraform infrastructure-as-code for provisioning and configuration management.
- Drive team adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering practices with validation standards for correctness, performance, and security.
- Implement logging and tracing with ELK Stack, Splunk, Dynatrace, and AWS CloudWatch.
- Collaborate with development teams to support smooth application deployment and operation.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and evaluate modern technologies to improve operational efficiency.
- Implement disaster recovery strategies using multi-region deployments, backups, and failover mechanisms.
- Design and implement observability solutions covering metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
- Coach engineers on secure, compliant, and responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
- At least 5 years of applied experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related field.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Bash, Shell, or Python.
- Strong expertise with AWS services including EC2, S3, EKS, ECS Fargate, VPC, IAM, networking, and Atlas 2.0.
- Experience building and managing automation, deployment, and delivery environments.
- Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Hands-on Kubernetes EKS and ECS experience.
- Experience designing observability solutions and automating CI/CD workflows using Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud security best practices.
- Preferred experience with rule engines such as IBM ODM and IBM ODM deployment and containerization.
- Familiarity with AI and Copilot concepts.
