Responsibilities
- Ship foundational platform services that help engineering teams move faster with confidence.
- Design and develop platform primitives involving infrastructure, databases, queuing, and related core services.
- Deliver software that improves platform availability, scalability, latency, and cost efficiency.
- Design and develop systems and processes that enable highly available and scalable applications.
- Use Python, Go, AWS, and Kubernetes to advance the engineering platform.
- Build performance-focused, self-healing systems with configuration as code and defensive programming practices.
- Identify and implement cost-optimization opportunities through infrastructure right-sizing, improved resource utilization, and platform tooling.
Requirements
- BA or BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience operating and scaling complex distributed systems.
- Experience working in a cloud-native environment.
- Proven application development experience in Python and/or Go.
- Fundamental understanding of Linux and all layers of the networking stack.
- Experience in platform-related areas such as Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, API gateways and traffic management, observability, or asynchronous processing tooling.
- Exposure to or interest in measuring and optimizing infrastructure cost and efficiency.
- Familiarity with high-volume data processing and storage systems and OLTP and OLAP databases.
- Exposure to technologies such as ClickHouse, DynamoDB, MySQL, Kafka, Spark, Flink, Iceberg, or Airflow is a plus.
Benefits
- Base salary range of €76,000–€114,000 EUR, with potential bonus, equity, sign-on payments, and health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits.
- Up to 10% travel may be required, coordinated in advance, for onboarding, client or partner work, team meetings, and industry events.
