Responsibilities
- Define and govern full-stack architecture across client experience and connectivity layers.
- Design micro-frontend architecture, including shell applications, module federation, component systems, state models, performance, accessibility, and frontend developer experience.
- Design and govern REST and GraphQL APIs, versioning, gateway configuration, contract testing, security, rate limiting, observability, and reliability.
- Own connectivity architecture for internal platforms, partner networks, and third-party services, including event-driven integration, message routing, and protocol translation.
- Establish engineering standards, reference architectures, reusable patterns, testing practices, observability, feature flagging, and progressive delivery.
- Lead architectural reviews, spike investigations, critical technical decisions, enterprise architecture governance, blueprinting, and architecture approvals.
- Partner with Product, UX, Data, and Platform architects to evaluate feasibility and align technical direction with enterprise roadmaps.
- Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers and develop architectural capability across UI and Connectivity teams.
- Support delivery teams through planning and build execution, answering architecture questions and validating implementation against approved designs.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in an architecture or technical leadership role.
- Proven experience designing and delivering production-grade full-stack systems at enterprise scale.
- Deep expertise in micro-frontends, module federation, React or an equivalent framework, component systems, and frontend performance engineering.
- Strong backend engineering experience with Java or Node.js, REST and GraphQL API design, and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Knowledge of API gateway patterns and security technologies including OAuth2, mTLS, and OIDC.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native application delivery.
- Ability to define technical direction amid ambiguity and make practical architecture tradeoffs.
- Preferred experience with Kafka, Solace, or similar messaging platforms; Kubernetes-based deployment and platform engineering; design-system and component-library governance; and financial services or transaction banking.
