Responsibilities

Own and contribute to software architecture and hands-on development of enterprise Java applications.
Provide technical guidance on design and implementation across distributed development teams.
Develop client- and server-side applications using Java, Java EE/Jakarta EE, Eclipse RCP, SWT, JFace, and WildFly.
Modernise legacy forensic systems and design modular new platforms.
Design and optimise backend services, data models, and high-performance processing logic using PostgreSQL, JPA/Hibernate, JPQL, and CriteriaBuilder.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated build, deployment, and release processes using Azure DevOps, Docker, Maven, and Eclipse Tycho.
Ensure code quality, test coverage, performance, scalability, production stability, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, business, and IT stakeholders.
Support team mobilisation, onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer across distributed delivery centres.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
10+ years of enterprise Java development and DevOps experience.
Proven experience in software architecture and hands-on development.
Experience with Java 11 or Java 17, Java EE/Jakarta EE, Eclipse RCP, SWT, JFace, PostgreSQL, and WildFly.
Experience with object-oriented development, design patterns, Clean Code, application modularisation, and legacy system evolution.
Experience with JPA/Hibernate, JPQL, CriteriaBuilder, Git-based workflows, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Maven, and Eclipse Tycho.
Experience with performance profiling, JVM tuning, automated release processes, and production stability.
Experience working in regulated or complex operational environments such as forensics or LIMS is preferred.
Strong collaboration, English communication, analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
