Responsibilities

  • Maintain, refactor, and extend production AI applications and services for a reinsurance business line.
  • Build tools, services, and workflows that LLM-based agents can call.
  • Design AI workflows combining models, prompts, tools, enterprise data, and business logic.
  • Validate model behavior, outputs, and assumptions from production and business-use perspectives.
  • Design and maintain evaluation frameworks, test suites, human evaluation workflows, and quality checks for AI and LLM systems.
  • Improve reliability, scalability, cost control, latency, grounding, and assurance, and help bring new agentic systems into production.
  • Use agentic coding harnesses to direct AI agents, review generated code, and remain accountable for production results.

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering skills with a modern language such as Python, TypeScript, Java, or Kotlin.
  • Experience with API, service, and integration engineering and the ability to improve an existing codebase.
  • Familiarity with LLM application patterns including prompting, retrieval-augmented generation, and tool or function calling.
  • Comfort working with agentic coding harnesses such as Claude Code and in Linux or cloud environments.
  • A Forward Deployed Engineer mindset focused on understanding business problems and delivering pragmatic solutions.
  • Exposure to Data Science methods for validating AI models.
  • Hands-on agentic or LLM application development, including agent loops, evaluations, or tool design, is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry/AIP, insurance or reinsurance, or cloud AI services such as Azure AI is valued but not required.
