Base Salary
$118k - $212k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture upgrade of backend services, including legacy-boundary refactoring, clean interfaces, and first-class observability.
- Build infrastructure that enables AI agents to act safely in production.
- Automate high-toil engineering workflows into reliable, self-service systems.
- Deliver backend capabilities for experiments, growth systems, and serving changes.
- Own reliability through observability, safe rollback, and knowledge-base improvements.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience with strong Java skills.
- Experience with Kubernetes and CI/CD.
- Experience leading backend architecture design across service boundaries, data flows, and high-QPS systems.
- Experience with large-scale recommendation, search, or advertising systems is preferred.
- Experience refactoring live production systems through incremental migration, shadow verification, and safe rollout.
- Strong focus on rollback, safety, and blast-radius control.
- Exposure to LLM agents or AIOps is a bonus.
