Responsibilities
- Design, implement, scale, and maintain backend systems that process large volumes of data.
- Build event-driven and API-based integrations and contribute to migration toward a scalable domain-based architecture.
- Optimize software for performance-sensitive, high-throughput, and low-latency workflows.
- Investigate technical problems and propose solutions collaboratively.
- Work closely with engineering, data science, product, Outcomes, Methodology, and Recruitment teams.
- Influence junior and mid-level engineers while delivering complex technical work autonomously.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong technical depth.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, Big O notation, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with heavy data-processing tools such as Spark, Delta Lake, Parquet, and Kafka.
- Experience with Python and/or PySpark and willingness to work with Java, the core language.
- Experience building or maintaining complex, real-time, high-volume systems with high throughput and low latency.
- Experience with Docker, SQL, NoSQL databases, REST APIs, and event-driven integrations.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaborative working skills.
- A degree or background in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, Pandas, Spring, microservices, or large-scale data and analytics environments is preferred.
