Responsibilities
- Design, implement, scale, and maintain backend systems that process large volumes of data.
- Build event-driven and API-based integrations and contribute to migration toward a scalable domain-based architecture.
- Optimize software for performance-sensitive, high-throughput, low-latency, and production-critical workflows.
- Investigate technical problems, propose solutions, and collaborate with engineering and data science colleagues.
- Influence junior and mid-level engineers while working autonomously across three teams and related product and data science functions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong technical depth.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, Big O notation, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with heavy data processing technologies such as Spark, Apache ecosystem tools, Delta Lake, Parquet, and Kafka.
- Experience with Python and/or PySpark and with complex, real-time, high-volume systems.
- Experience with Docker, SQL, NoSQL databases, and event-driven integrations.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaborative working skills.
- A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or other cloud providers, Pandas, Spring, microservices, and large-scale data or analytics environments is preferred.
