Responsibilities
- Design, implement, scale, and maintain backend systems that process large volumes of data.
- Build and optimize software for performance-sensitive, high-throughput, low-latency production workflows.
- Develop event-driven and REST API-based integrations.
- Contribute to migration efforts toward a more domain-based and scalable architecture.
- Investigate technical problems, propose solutions, and collaborate with engineering and data science colleagues.
- Work autonomously across the Outcomes, Methodology, and Recruitment teams and related product and data science areas.
- Influence and support junior and mid-level engineers while maintaining a primarily hands-on technical focus.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of backend software engineering experience with strong technical depth.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, Big O notation, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with large-scale data processing technologies such as Spark, Apache ecosystem tools, Delta Lake, Parquet, and Kafka.
- Experience with Python and/or PySpark.
- Experience building or maintaining complex, real-time, high-volume systems with high throughput and low latency.
- Experience with Docker, SQL, NoSQL databases, REST APIs, and event-driven integrations.
- Ability to work effectively in performance-oriented, production-critical environments.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, proactive collaboration, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
- A degree or background in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, Pandas, Spring, microservices, or large-scale data and analytics environments is a plus.
