Base Salary
$270k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute customer data strategies for LLM post-training, including diagnosing data quality issues and recommending data generation approaches.
- Recommend post-training algorithms and design controlled experiments, hyperparameter tuning strategies, and tracking methods.
- Build customer evaluation frameworks using task-specific benchmarks, LLM-as-judge pipelines, and held-out test sets.
- Guide base model selection and baseline quality evaluations, including research into newly released open-source models.
- Scope and size reinforcement learning and fine-tuning workloads while supporting sales and capacity forecasting.
- Serve as the primary post-training technical contact for strategic accounts and lead delivery from scoping through production.
- Provide product and research feedback and contribute code, recipes, reference implementations, and early feature adoption support.
Requirements
- 5+ years in a technical role in ML engineering, applied AI, forward deployed engineering, or solutions architecture, with recent hands-on LLM post-training experience.
- Expert-level hands-on experience with LLM fine-tuning and/or reinforcement learning, including SFT, LoRA, DPO, GRPO, and PPO.
- Strong experience designing experiments, running ablations, and building evaluations that distinguish real improvement from noise.
- Proven ability to build and iterate on training datasets.
- Broad knowledge of open-source models and strong judgment in selecting base models for customer requirements.
- Strong Python skills and comfort working in production environments.
- Experience leading complex customer-facing technical projects, with strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
