Responsibilities
- Design, write, maintain, and execute automated tests for React applications, Java backend services, REST APIs, and end-to-end business workflows.
- Develop and maintain reusable automation frameworks using Cucumber BDD, Selenium, TypeScript, and related tools.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, API, database, and end-to-end testing across application layers.
- Test REST APIs with RestAssured and Postman, including status codes, payloads, business rules, error responses, authentication, authorization, and data integrity.
- Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts, identify root causes, and collaborate with developers and QA team members to resolve defects.
- Validate application and transactional data using SQL queries and support database-level verification.
- Integrate automated tests into Jenkins pipelines and use Git for version-controlled test development.
- Contribute to test strategy, coverage improvements, quality reporting, defect analysis, release readiness, and framework optimization.
- Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews, and other delivery discussions while communicating testing progress, risks, and quality outcomes.
- Learn and apply Synechron-supported internal automation tools and maintain reusable test assets.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in quality assurance or test automation; the target experience range is 5–8 years.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber BDD, REST API testing, RestAssured, and Postman.
- Experience testing both React frontend applications and Java backend applications.
- Experience building or maintaining reusable automation frameworks and performing functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
- Familiarity with SQL databases and the ability to write or understand SQL queries for test-data validation.
- Experience using Git and Jenkins in software testing or development workflows.
- Experience troubleshooting automation scripts, maintaining test cases, and working in an agile delivery environment.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Professional certification in software testing, test automation, Agile, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to communicate testing results, defects, risks, technical findings, and recommendations clearly.
- Willingness to learn Synechron-supported internal automation tools and continue developing automation, programming, and testing skills.
