Responsibilities
- Build and operate production LLM-powered agentic systems for developer productivity and security signal analysis.
- Design agent tools, planning and execution loops, orchestration, evaluations, safety guardrails, observability, progressive delivery, and reliability capabilities.
- Own medium-to-large features end to end, including design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, customer feedback, and production iteration.
- Develop full-stack solutions spanning user experiences, backend data layers, services, and APIs.
- Use and promote AI-assisted development tools, automation, documentation, and disciplined AI practices across the software development lifecycle.
- Mentor and coach engineers, provide technical direction, improve engineering quality, and contribute to incident response.
- Apply security best practices, Security-by-Design, and Responsible AI principles to AI-powered threat detection and response features.
- Collaborate with product management, design, customers, and partner teams to deliver scalable solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and at least 2 years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience building production software with modern programming languages such as C#, Java, or Python.
- Hands-on experience building and operating LLM-powered agentic systems in production with ownership of quality, reliability, and iteration.
- Expertise in LLM and generative AI application development, prompt engineering, AI orchestration, agent SDKs, retrieval-augmented generation, tool or function calling, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Experience with AI-assisted software development tools and workflows, including GitHub Copilot, Copilot Workspace, agentic plugins, agents, skills, and hooks.
- Experience designing, running, and optimizing evaluations for agentic systems, including tools, prompts, and agent loops.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in systems design, performance, debugging, data structures, testing, algorithms, and code review.
- Ability to own ambiguous problem spaces, learn new technologies quickly, communicate effectively, collaborate across disciplines, and mentor peers.
- Preferred: at least 2 years of experience with cloud services or AI systems and experience shipping AI features for large-scale production systems.
- Preferred: experience designing RESTful APIs or GraphQL services and working with SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Preferred: experience evaluating emerging AI developer tools and translating findings into team-wide engineering practices.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
