Responsibilities
- Manage, build, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud-based database infrastructure.
- Improve processes via automation and coding to reduce toil.
- Liaise with engineering and SRE teams to support new product launches.
- Work on observability of database metrics to meet objectives.
- Collaborate with the DBA team to identify and automate areas of toil.
- Implement performance and availability improvements for stakeholder database systems.
- Provide database expertise for migrations, queries, and performance optimizations.
- Assist in performance troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience with relational database systems, including 3+ years at a senior or lead level.
- 2+ years in a Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proficiency in coding and automation.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible and Terraform.
- Experience with source control systems such as GIT.
- SQL Server experience preferred; MySQL and PostgreSQL are nice to have.
- Experience managing very large databases (VLDBs) and a large number of databases.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as PowerShell, C#, SQL, and Python.
