Responsibilities
- Translate business goals into technical solutions using Ruby on Rails and modern web technologies.
- Design and implement responsive, accessible, user-facing features with emphasis on backend and fullstack development.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs that power frontend experiences.
- Contribute across backlog refinement, development, testing, documentation, and delivery.
- Participate in pair programming, code reviews, retrospectives, Agile ceremonies, and collaborative cross-functional work.
- Deploy and maintain secure, scalable, and maintainable cloud-based applications in a CI/CD environment.
- Apply automated testing, TDD and/or BDD, infrastructure, monitoring, and observability practices.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
- At least 8 years of professional software development experience.
- At least 4 years of professional Ruby on Rails development experience.
- Strong frontend development experience using React.
- Experience deploying applications through CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments such as AWS CLI.
- Experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, RESTful API development, and test-driven or behavior-driven development.
- Proven experience working in an Agile development team and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes government or public-sector digital services, identity verification and authentication, accessibility-focused development, UX collaboration, research-driven design, and frontend architecture and performance optimization.
