Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical backend alerting systems with ownership of reliability, performance, and availability
- Build distributed systems that scale alert ingestion, delivery, and evaluation for Prometheus-based and Grafana-managed alerts
- Drive projects from initial ideation through customer operations and iterative improvement
- Participate in on-call rotations and own the services being operated
- Mentor teammates, contribute to design discussions, and collaborate across teams
- Influence the roadmap and contribute to open-source projects beyond the immediate team
Requirements
- Solid experience with at least one programming language; Grafana uses Go, and familiarity with Python, Java, C++, Rust, or similar languages is transferable
- Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and ideation through shipping to customers
- Experience developing software that runs in the cloud or experience with systems engineering
- Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a fully remote environment
- Customer focus, pragmatic problem-solving, collaboration, and a self-starting attitude
