Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own data processing architectures and systems for scalable data and analytics pipelines, dashboards, and metrics.
- Build core datasets and scalable, fault-tolerant batch and streaming pipelines at petabyte scale.
- Develop data anomaly detection and data quality checks, and optimize compute and storage systems while meeting dataset quality and SLA requirements.
- Process Bing mission-critical analytical data and generate real-time insights for the grounding business.
- Apply data compliance and governance practices.
- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and cross-functional partners to develop end-to-end data assets.
- Use AI technologies in coding, testing, data processing, and data validation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Preferred: 6+ years of experience with coding languages including C#, C++, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with Spark or Flink and messaging technologies such as Kafka or EventHub.
- Experience with Azure cloud environments and data storage technologies such as HDFS or Azure Blob Storage.
- Preferred: 6+ years of backend service development experience and 2+ years of batch or streaming data processing experience at petabyte scale.
- Domain expertise in Spark or Flink, data pipeline performance optimization, and AI use in data processing or validation.
- Data compliance or governance experience is a plus.
- Fluent verbal and written English communication skills.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800-$234,700 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City range of USD $160,200-$261,000 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position will remain open for a minimum of 5 days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
