Responsibilities
- Act as the subject matter expert for Node.js and AWS development.
- Design and develop backend and BFF services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Build RESTful and GraphQL APIs and aggregation layers for web, mobile, Smart TV, and set-top box platforms.
- Integrate AWS services and define API contracts, data models, caching strategies, and resiliency patterns.
- Lead feature delivery from design through deployment and maintain scalable TypeScript code with automated testing.
- Manage dependencies, security patches, framework upgrades, and platform enhancements.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and support deployments, release validation, and rollback activities.
- Provide effort estimations, technical guidance, and risk assessments.
- Mentor engineering teams and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Participate in on-call rotations and production support activities.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Must have Node.js and AWS application development experience.
- Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with AWS Lambda, ECS, EKS, Fargate, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kinesis, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Experience with Express.js, Fastify, or NestJS and relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with Jest, Mocha, Supertest, and API testing frameworks.
- Experience with Git, Docker, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, blue-green deployments, and canary deployments.
- Strong production support, troubleshooting, performance optimization, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred experience with OTT, streaming, broadcast, or digital media platforms and HLS, DASH, DRM, SSAI, CDN, and VoD technologies.
- Preferred knowledge of AWS Elemental Services, CloudFront, GraphQL Federation, BFF architecture, Kafka, AWS Step Functions, Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Redis, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, Elastic Stack, OpenTelemetry, ServiceNow, and ITSM processes.
- AWS Developer Associate or AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
