Responsibilities
- Design complex, scalable, and maintainable software features across distributed, event-driven, and other application architectures.
- Collaborate with solution managers, designers, and engineering peers to translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Analyze technical challenges and system bottlenecks and author documentation to improve large-scale transactional processing.
- Facilitate code reviews and promote unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and platforms to improve decision-making, code quality, and productivity.
- Work additional or irregular hours as needed and follow applicable security policies to protect company and client information.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- At least 4–6 years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in some of WellSky’s backend, frontend, cloud, infrastructure, architecture, data, or AI-assisted development technologies; experience with every listed technology is not required.
- Preferred experience includes .NET/C#, Python with Django or Flask, Java, Ruby, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue, GCP, AWS, Azure, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GraphQL, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, BigQuery, or Claude Code.
- Healthcare technology interoperability or domain experience with FHIR, HL7, HIPAA, EMR, medical claims, or payroll accounting is preferred.
- Ability to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods and comply with applicable employment eligibility requirements.
