Responsibilities
- Build prototypes, assess technical feasibility, and rapidly iterate on AI use cases.
- Develop AI-powered healthcare features and services, including information extraction, clinical summarization, decision support, and documentation generation.
- Integrate LLMs and model APIs into product workflows while optimizing cost, quality, and latency.
- Design and implement RAG pipelines, semantic search capabilities, and data ingestion, indexing, and structuring pipelines.
- Develop NLP components for extraction, analysis, classification, and structured output of medical and healthcare data.
- Build and maintain AI deployment pipelines with model versioning, prompt management, and operational tooling.
- Monitor AI quality, performance, costs, reliability, security, incidents, rollback strategies, and model drift.
- Establish evaluation metrics covering relevance, hallucination rates, latency, and model drift.
- Support production deployment and evolution of promising prototypes into observable, product-ready solutions.
- Collaborate with R&D, Product, and Architecture teams and contribute to AI standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing robust software applications or services.
- Experience in at least one of LLM and AI model integration, data engineering and RAG architectures, or AI deployment, MLOps, or LLMOps.
- Strong understanding of data quality, transformation, traceability, governance, and human oversight in AI systems.
- Recent hands-on experience with AI solutions and modern AI development tools, including the ability to critically assess their outputs and limitations.
- Strong proficiency in Python and the modern AI ecosystem.
- Preferred: a technical portfolio, relevant personal or professional projects, open-source AI contributions, or a GitHub profile.
- Preferred: digital health or regulated-industry experience and familiarity with HL7 v2, FHIR, Quebec's Law 25, and PIPEDA.
- Preferred: experience with sovereign or on-premises AI deployments, MLOps/LLMOps, and PEFT or LoRA fine-tuning.
- Preferred: C#/.NET backend development experience and familiarity with data pipelines, vector databases, semantic search, NLP, optimization, and AI orchestration frameworks.
