Senior Java Developer, Off
State StreetResponsibilities
- Produce and maintain technical documentation for application support and future enhancements.
- Own assigned applications, components, or services from requirements analysis through production deployment, ongoing support, and issue resolution.
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and support enterprise applications and backend services.
- Develop and support Java and Spring Boot backend services and RESTful APIs.
- Develop database solutions, including data modeling and SQL development.
- Integrate backend services with frontend applications and third-party systems.
- Support service-oriented and microservices-based architectures.
- Develop web-based demonstrations and services using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React JS.
- Collaborate with business users, infrastructure teams, vendors, and global technology partners to resolve incidents and service requests.
- Create and maintain automation, scripting, and support tooling as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on development, application support, or technical troubleshooting experience with at least one programming language.
- Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, backend services, SQL, and enterprise application support.
- Windows platform support and SQL Server experience are strongly preferred.
- Experience with VBA, PowerShell, VBScript, Windows Batch, Microsoft Visual Studio, or SQL development is preferred.
- Experience with microservices or distributed systems and exposure to cloud platforms or container-based deployment models.
- Prior experience in financial services or regulated industries is preferred.
- Willingness to work in a Japanese business environment, use Japanese in daily work, and learn relevant business and technical terminology.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, independence, and ownership skills.
