Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure in AWS GovCloud environments.
  • Configure and manage Kubernetes and OpenShift container orchestration platforms.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
  • Support secure data flows and compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards and STIG requirements.
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps teams on deployment pipelines and container management.
  • Optimize cloud resources for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot cloud, networking, and containerized-environment issues.
  • Partner with AI/ML engineers and software developers to deploy and integrate analytics platforms.
  • Maintain technical documentation and provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field with at least 14 years of experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with at least 12 years, or a PhD or JD with at least 9 years.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active Top Secret clearance is required at start, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance after starting.
  • Experience in cloud engineering, cloud administration or architecture, DevOps engineering, IT specialization, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, release engineering, systems administration, systems engineering, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms or containerization technologies, including examples such as AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python or Bash, Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible, and Linux system administration.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and platform security best practices.
  • Knowledge of networking topics such as VPCs, TCP/IP, and TLS.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and logging tools, Airflow, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Apache, Kibana, or GovCloud adaptations is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Security+ are strongly preferred.
  • Ability to transport or move 50-pound equipment on planes and ships.
