Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure in AWS GovCloud environments.
- Configure and manage Kubernetes and OpenShift container orchestration platforms.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Support secure data flows and compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards and STIG requirements.
- Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to improve deployment pipelines and container management.
- Optimize cloud resources for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot cloud, networking, and containerized-environment issues.
- Deploy and integrate advanced analytics platforms and tools with AI/ML engineers and software developers.
- Maintain technical documentation for system operations and compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
- Transport or move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on planes and ships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field and 14 or more years of experience; or a master’s degree and 12 or more years; or a PhD or JD and 9 or more years.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- An active Top Secret clearance is required to start, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI after starting.
- Experience in cloud engineering, cloud administration, cloud architecture, DevOps engineering, IT specialization, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, release engineering, systems administration, systems engineering, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of a cloud platform or containerization technologies such as AWS, Azure, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Some proficiency in Python or Bash for automation.
- Some experience with Terraform or Ansible for configuration management.
- Some proficiency with Linux system administration.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and platform-security best practices.
- Knowledge of advanced networking topics such as VPCs, TCP/IP, and TLS.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, or Elasticsearch.
- Experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes, Airflow, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Apache, Kibana, Domino Data Labs, Tobias, or Fiddler is preferred.
- Experience adapting open-source products to GovCloud and supporting government or military organizations is preferred.
- AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or Security+ certification is strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills are required.
