Base Salary
$120k - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software systems and features primarily in Go for large-scale video delivery.
- Build reliable and testable services supporting VOD, live events, linear channels, dynamic ad insertion, and manifest manipulation.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural patterns, engineering practices, and technical direction.
- Partner with Site Reliability Engineering to build highly available, resilient, performant, and fault-tolerant systems across multiple regions.
- Use metrics, logs, traces, and performance analytics to detect issues and perform data-driven root-cause analysis.
- Contribute to multi-CDN strategies, routing logic, and content-origin workflows for global streaming performance.
- Collaborate with distributed engineering teams across the US, UK, EU, and Africa and maintain clear technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience with hands-on Go development preferred, or Python experience.
- Experience deploying and operating cloud applications using containers and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Git-based repositories, automated testing frameworks, and build pipelines.
- Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering concepts including SLIs, SLOs, auto-scaling, distributed-systems reliability, or incident response.
- Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile development methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining design decisions and collaborating with distributed teams.
- Preferred experience with CDNs such as Akamai, CloudFront, Fastly, or Cloudflare, or with streaming media delivery systems.
- Preferred understanding of HLS, DASH, manifests, origins, content routing, global scale, multi-region deployments, or high-availability architectures.
