Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, install, and support mainframe applications in coordination with technology teams and business stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements and solution designs into functional code using COBOL, DB2, and JCL.
- Analyze applications for vulnerabilities and security issues and perform testing, debugging, and implementation activities.
- Contribute to mainframe optimization and modernization initiatives across banking and payment applications.
- Own user stories and support quality, timely delivery, application solutioning, and design.
- Consult with users, clients, solution leads, and technology groups to resolve issues and recommend programming solutions.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert, advisor, or coach to senior stakeholders and lower-level analysts.
- Assess and escalate operational, security, compliance, and control risks appropriately.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant financial-services experience; the expanded qualifications section specifies more than 8 years.
- Strong programming skills in mainframe COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
- Intermediate-level applications-development experience.
- Experience with mainframe optimization and modernization.
- Application-domain knowledge in banking or payment areas such as customer demographics, debit-card processing, checking and savings, loans, payments, or customer statements and advices.
- Ability to collaborate with solution leads, senior application-development analysts, and technical information-security officers.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Clear written and verbal communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and use organizational AI tools.
- Knowledge of EMV Chip technology, 3D Secure, and debit-card authentication and authorization is an advantage.
