Responsibilities
- Lead the transformation of the core PHP monolith into secure, performant, well-architected decoupled services.
- Drive architectural decisions for new services and shape the platform’s technical vision and roadmap.
- Develop maintainable TypeScript code using the NestJS framework.
- Promote security, testing, development, and workflow best practices.
- Own technical KPIs supporting a smooth development process.
- Lead integration of new APIs, payment systems, and data tracking.
- Collaborate with product teams, technical leads, quality engineers, the product manager, and Head of Platform.
- Mentor and coach developers and facilitate technical discussions.
- Make technical decisions when team-wide consensus is not reached.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional TypeScript/Node.js development experience.
- Proven experience with software service architecture methodologies such as Domain-Driven Design and familiarity with PHP 7/8 and PHP frameworks for understanding legacy codebases.
- Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing and modern Node.js frameworks.
- Good understanding of relational databases and containers.
- Experience building multi-server, high-load Node.js applications and APIs and working with cloud technologies such as GCP.
- Ability to write clear, structured, maintainable code and apply design patterns appropriately.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to understand complex codebases quickly.
- Interest in and some experience augmenting work with AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Gemini.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and facilitate technical discussions.
- Experience coaching and mentoring developers.
- Experience with agile methodologies, specifically Kanban.
- Fluent technical and business English and enthusiasm for games and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Past game development experience is a plus, as is willingness to take on full-stack development tasks.
