Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, and implement complex software enhancements and solutions for Charles River IMS.
- Drive technical excellence and contribute to product architecture, core frameworks, and mission-critical system components.
- Provide expert troubleshooting assistance to customer support, development teams, and client implementations.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create sustainable solutions for complex business and technical problems.
- Develop and maintain cloud-native, microservice-based applications and message-based systems.
- Conduct code reviews and provide critical analysis and guidance on proposed changes.
- Write unit and automation tests, conduct manual testing, and improve development and test methodologies.
- Coordinate cross-team activities and participate in scrum ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical field; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 13 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience.
- At least 6 years of financial services experience developing solutions for portfolio management, trading, compliance, post-trade, IBOR, or wealth management is strongly desired.
- At least 5 years of experience working with an Agile development methodology.
- Authoritative experience with object-oriented programming, compiler or interpreter technologies, embedded systems, operating systems, relational databases, scripting, and advanced programming languages.
- Demonstrated ability to design and develop simple solutions for highly complex business and technical problems and to work with high-performance, multi-tiered database applications.
- Experience with Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, microservice architectures, Kubernetes, Kafka, and message-based systems.
- Cloud-native services experience is required; Azure experience is a bonus, and Snowflake experience is a strong asset.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and software design skills.
