Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new or revised application systems and programs using hands-on coding.
- Perform feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk assessment, analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation.
- Monitor development phases and provide user and operational support for applications.
- Analyze complex application and business-process issues and recommend advanced programming solutions.
- Design and implement security measures and conduct post-implementation analysis of business usage.
- Consult with users, clients, and technology groups; install systems and assist with customer exposure systems.
- Define operating standards and processes, follow essential procedures, and support compliance and control requirements.
- Serve as a technical advisor or coach to new and lower-level analysts.
- Assess technology risk and protect the firm, clients, and assets through compliance with applicable policies, laws, and regulations.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in an applications development role with hands-on coding using Java, Kafka, big-data frameworks, and distributed systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Java, Spring, Kafka, and distributed caching or systems such as Apache Ignite and Redis.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle.
- Experience with Python is preferred.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Apache Iceberg is preferred.
- Experience building applications on cloud platforms and using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Experience with microservices architecture and API-first design and implementation using WebSocket and gRPC.
- Proven ability to implement design patterns and enterprise-level architecture.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and project-management skills, with the ability to work independently, collaborate, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- UI technology stack knowledge is an advantage.
