Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and automation for cloud financial management, including cost tracking, allocation, governance, compliance, and reporting.
  • Deliver production-grade software with design reviews, code reviews, secure coding practices, and automated testing.
  • Build Kubernetes solutions for resource management, scaling, workload placement, cluster safety, efficiency, and waste reduction using Karpenter, KEDA, and custom automation.
  • Create dashboards and engineering views that connect cloud usage, performance, scaling behavior, and cost outcomes.
  • Contribute to cluster lifecycle and upgrades, platform reliability, standard templates, paved paths, developer self-service, and platform development practices.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with release visibility and rollback capabilities.
  • Partner with application teams, SRE/DevOps, platform teams, and leadership to deliver and sustain efficient cloud patterns in production.
  • Apply cloud financial management practices including tagging, anomaly investigation, budgeting, forecasting, and realized-impact measurement.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience building and operating production backend services with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and operational readiness.
  • Go experience as the primary application-development language and Python experience for tooling, scripting, and automation.
  • Strong Kubernetes experience, ideally with EKS, including debugging, scaling, performance tuning, and safe operation of shared clusters.
  • Strong AWS cloud financial management and cost-governance knowledge, including allocation, tagging, anomaly investigation, budgeting, forecasting, and savings measurement.
  • Experience with AWS cost-optimization approaches including right-sizing, scaling strategies, storage lifecycle decisions, and architecture improvements.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and control-plane automation using Terraform and Crossplane.
  • Working knowledge of AWS networking and distributed-systems fundamentals.
  • Strong DevOps and SDLC practices, including code reviews, test automation, secure coding, and operational ownership.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Preferred experience with Karpenter, KEDA, Kubecost, AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, AWS Cost and Usage Reports, AWS Compute Optimizer, CloudWatch, Grafana, QuickSight, Flexera, Argo CD, and GCP billing and cost management.
