Responsibilities
- Act as the design authority for Luma-based customer solutions.
- Define logical and physical architectures covering applications, data, integrations, and operations.
- Architect solutions that connect digital and physical lab environments.
- Shape functional requirements in collaboration with Scientific Architects.
- Own non-functional requirements including performance and security.
- Design integration approaches using technologies like Apache NiFi and APIs.
- Architect solutions for seamless experiment transitions from planning to execution.
- Apply security best practices and design for high availability.
- Act as a senior technical advisor to customers and partners.
- Provide architectural guidance to other Solution Architects and Delivery Partners.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in scoping automated scientific workflow-based solutions.
- Experience designing enterprise-grade SaaS or hybrid architectures.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced understanding of integration patterns, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Experience with data platforms like Databricks and integration tools like Apache NiFi.
- Familiarity with lab automation connectivity standards and protocols.
- Experience integrating complex application landscapes across IT and OT environments.
- Understanding of scientific R&D workflows, particularly in regulated environments.
- Comfortable acting as the most senior technical voice in customer engagements.
- Experience working with system integrators or technology partners.
