Responsibilities
- Review requirements, technical designs, and architecture to identify quality risks and provide early feedback.
- Own and drive the product’s quality engineering and automation strategy.
- Design and evolve scalable, maintainable automation frameworks across UI and API layers.
- Develop and execute automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Perform API, backend, and database validation for reliability, data integrity, and system behavior.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and improve continuous testing speed and reliability.
- Define and track quality KPIs including automation coverage, defect leakage, and test effectiveness.
- Investigate recurring quality issues, identify root causes, and drive long-term solutions.
- Contribute to performance and security testing initiatives.
- Establish testing standards, best practices, and processes across engineering teams.
- Mentor SDETs and QA engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Communicate quality insights, risks, metrics, and improvement initiatives to engineering and product leadership.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in QA, SDET, or quality engineering roles with strong hands-on automation experience.
- Strong programming skills in one or more of C#, .NET, ASP.NET, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, or similar automation tools.
- Strong understanding of TestNG, JUnit, or Mocha test automation frameworks.
- Strong experience with API testing using Postman or REST clients.
- Solid understanding of SQL, databases, and backend testing.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Strong understanding of white-box and black-box testing principles.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development practices and cross-functional engineering collaboration.
- Experience designing automation strategies and frameworks for complex products and distributed systems.
- Performance and/or security testing experience is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, technical decision-making, and influencing abilities.
