Responsibilities
- Engineer and automate database platform build and administration tasks.
- Automate database and operating system upgrades, security patching, failover, failback, database management, auditing, and compliance collection.
- Maintain database CMDB properties and enhance internal database management tools such as Self Service Portal and CopyDB.
- Enhance and maintain the database microservice API platform.
- Manage database infrastructure lifecycle and vulnerability management.
- Troubleshoot production database automation jobs, track failures, and roll out fixes.
- Collaborate with production support teams to implement automation solutions for new and existing databases.
- Implement infrastructure as code and support large-scale infrastructure automation.
- Participate in global-team operations and provide weekend support as needed.
Requirements
- 11–14 years of relevant experience.
- Expertise developing and deploying Ansible playbooks, plugins, roles, and templates on Ansible Tower.
- Expertise with Python, PowerShell, shell scripting, FastAPI, Gunicorn, Flask microservices, and Git-based version control.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD and automated testing; Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and related CI/CD pipeline experience are advantageous.
- Experience managing complex platform and database automation projects.
- Hands-on DBA knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle; MongoDB, Aurora, and AWS RDS knowledge is advantageous.
- Experience implementing infrastructure as code with tools such as Terraform.
- Hands-on Linux experience, particularly Red Hat 8.x or 9.x.
- Knowledge of VMware and Red Hat OpenShift.
- Experience with large-scale IT infrastructure automation and support.
- ITIL experience, including change and incident management using ServiceNow.
- Experience with dashboarding tools such as Power BI and Grafana is advantageous.
- Knowledge of enterprise job scheduling with AutoSys is advantageous.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in English.
