Responsibilities
- Deliver revenue-critical eCommerce features as part of a global engineering team.
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs using Node.js.
- Design and configure NoSQL databases and search indexes for end-to-end API flows.
- Solve complex technical challenges involving scale and performance.
- Maintain modern infrastructure aligned with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Mentor engineering peers and uphold strong code quality and development practices.
- Evaluate technical trade-offs based on cost, risk, and effort while considering customer impact.
- Influence decision-makers across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of API development experience.
- Expert programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and Node.js.
- Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS, with hands-on experience using public cloud offerings such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, search technologies such as OpenSearch, and graph databases.
- Familiarity with API standards and frameworks.
- Ability to learn new backend technologies as needed.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions.
- Preferred: substantial experience with AI/LLM-driven use cases and coding AI tools such as Copilot or Windsurf.
- Strong problem-solving, written communication, spoken communication, and distributed-team collaboration skills.
