Responsibilities
- Develop platform capabilities that enable Marketplace engineers to build scalable systems.
- Investigate and improve overall system stability and performance.
- Advise engineers on building robust systems with high availability.
- Write code affecting more than 80 million users and handling more than 10 million requests per minute.
- Participate in an on-call rotation every five to six weeks.
Requirements
- Experience building and supporting large-scale applications.
- Strong understanding of how infrastructure and code work together.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills for discussing complex topics and collaborating across cultures.
- Analytical and acute problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and master new technologies and concepts.
- Familiarity with and deep knowledge in relevant areas of computer science, software engineering, data structures, and algorithms depending on seniority.
- Motivation to solve complex engineering problems requiring deep technical understanding and collaboration.
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, performance optimization, and monitoring is advantageous.
