Base Salary
$193k - $291k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop core infrastructure powering Arbitrum and solve complex distributed systems, performance, security, and scalability challenges.
- Collaborate with research, product, blockchain engineering, security, and client-facing teams on blockchain technology and infrastructure issues.
- Maintain and enhance the Nitro Testnode development tool, including troubleshooting and reliability improvements.
- Conduct peer code reviews and establish backend architecture, technology-selection, and engineering best-practice standards.
- Design high-performance compiler pipelines and extensible SDK frameworks.
- Drive technical roadmaps for distributed systems and data modeling, including microservice integration, database scalability, integrity, and API-first interoperability strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus five years of relevant professional experience.
- A master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in a related field plus three years of relevant professional experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree and five years of experience.
- At least three years of experience developing backend systems with languages including Go or Rust.
- At least three years of experience with protocols spanning L1s to L2s, blockchain protocols, distributed systems, security-focused engineering, and collaboration with blockchain research teams.
- At least three years of experience with reliable broadcast protocols, distributed data structures, and high-performance database storage engines.
- At least one year of production experience with WebAssembly and high-performance, high-security code.
- At least one year of professional experience with cloud infrastructure and containerization technologies including AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
