Responsibilities
- Develop reliable C++ flight software determining how spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules operate throughout their missions.
- Write structured bare-metal, RTOS-based, or Linux-based software for embedded processors.
- Own software design, testing, integration, verification, and validation across the development lifecycle.
- Scope projects, capture requirements, and perform initial design trades for open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with the team to communicate, solve problems, and maintain system quality and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or equivalent technical experience in safety-critical software.
- At least 5 years of experience developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
- Strong C++ development experience and understanding of C++ language concepts.
- Preferred: end-to-end experience building and launching spacecraft and developing and testing real-time embedded systems.
- Preferred: aerospace safety-critical software experience, CCSDS telemetry and telecommand experience, and experience with F' or cFS.
- Preferred: Python or Rust experience, basic analog and digital electronics knowledge, and familiarity with SPI, I2C, CAN, and EtherCAT.
