Base Salary

$76k - $143k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate automated ingestion pipelines for source code, database scripts and schemas, deployment configuration, and technical documentation.
  • Develop static-analysis and LLM-assisted extraction for application components, technology fingerprints, dependencies, interfaces, data-access patterns, and shared database usage.
  • Build LLM capabilities for code and business-logic summarization, business-capability tagging, similarity and duplicate detection, and technical-debt, security, and risk indicators.
  • Implement retrieval-augmented generation and hybrid keyword/vector search with source citations.
  • Load extracted entities and relationships into graph and relational stores for dependency, impact, clustering, and modernization-wave analysis.
  • Build evaluation harnesses, regression tests, quality metrics, human-review workflows, and traceability for prompts and agents.
  • Instrument and optimize pipelines for observability, throughput, token consumption, and cost.
  • Package reusable prompts, agents, tools, and pipeline components and produce technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2–3+ years of software, data, or ML engineering experience, including production AI/ML systems, leading teams of five or more engineers, and client-facing delivery in federal or regulated environments.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Experience integrating generative AI models, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-source LLMs, into web-based products.
  • Experience writing tests and participating in code reviews, with strong problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and learning skills.
  • Preferred experience with static code analysis and parsing, graph databases and algorithms, agent frameworks, MCP, LLM evaluation and observability tooling, Azure services, Azure Government, legacy modernization, federal delivery, and Azure AI Engineer Associate or comparable certification.

Benefits

  • Base salary ranges from $76,200 to $125,500 in most US locations, with higher ranges for specified metropolitan areas.
