Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the Data Platform’s technical vision, roadmap, and architecture across data, platform, and infrastructure domains.
- Establish engineering standards, best practices, and reusable patterns in partnership with Enterprise Architecture.
- Guide teams through complex technical challenges and contribute to planning, risk management, and end-to-end delivery.
- Improve code quality, testing, observability, reliability, and operational practices.
- Mentor engineers, grow senior technical capabilities, and champion AI-assisted development and engineering automation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or equivalent senior individual contributor leader.
- Strong background in data platforms, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience shaping technical direction across teams and stakeholders.
- Expertise with AWS, Terraform, Kafka/MSK, Airflow, Glue or Spark, and scalable data solutions.
- Experience with data lake or lakehouse architectures, Iceberg or similar table formats, and batch and streaming processing.
- Knowledge of data quality, governance, cataloguing, and observability tools such as Datadog.
- Experience with dbt or AI-assisted engineering practices is a plus.
