Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot for Atomic FX.
- Build secure, high-performance server-side solutions integrating with relational databases and front-end applications.
- Translate Foreign Exchange business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with business stakeholders.
- Implement solutions across on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
- Mentor junior and intermediate developers and promote code quality and Java development best practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement durable stability improvements.
- Use CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, build tooling, and deployment strategies to improve delivery quality.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, architectural decisions, and backend architecture evolution.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience, including substantial hands-on Java, Spring Boot, and SQL database experience.
- Experience building and maintaining production REST APIs and backend services.
- Strong knowledge of service design, data modeling, concurrency, performance, error handling, testing, and secure development practices.
- Experience with asynchronous or event-driven workflows, messaging or queues, or real-time communication such as WebSocket.
- Experience supporting production systems, diagnosing issues, and implementing durable fixes.
- Experience with automated testing, code review, source control, build tooling, and continuous integration and delivery.
- Ability to collaborate within established architecture and with developers of varying experience levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for discussing technical decisions with engineering and business partners.
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent practical experience in computer science, engineering, technology, or a related discipline.
- Preferred qualifications include capital markets or Foreign Exchange experience, direct business-user collaboration, hybrid cloud experience, MongoDB or other document databases, Go, observability, performance testing, secure API design, authentication and authorization, enterprise integration patterns, and service modernization experience.
