Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery for Java development projects and oversee project deliverables.
- Design and govern reusable accelerators, technical components, design patterns, and solution architectures.
- Translate functional requirements into technical solutions and prepare architecture documents, presentations, and delivery artifacts.
- Evaluate technology stacks and support architects with technology choices and high-level solution design.
- Lead, mentor, allocate work to, and evaluate development team members.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, senior business analysts, architects, and development teams to gather requirements and track project progress.
- Contribute to proposals, project sizing, effort estimation, and responses to requests for proposals.
- Support recruiting by interviewing candidates when needed.
- Promote software development best practices, clean coding, testing, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Travel as required to meet client and job requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems management, or a related field.
- 6 to 9 years of professional experience, including experience leading teams.
- Strong experience with Java 17/21 or later, J2EE, Spring Boot, JPA, Spring Cloud, and distributed or service-oriented architectures.
- Experience with Spring, Hibernate, SQL Server or Oracle, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Experience with messaging and event-processing technologies such as Kafka and MQ.
- Experience designing and developing solutions in cloud environments, preferably Azure.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, web services, SOAP, REST, enterprise service bus integration, and message mediation.
- Knowledge of web security technologies including OAuth, SSO/SAML, and LDAP.
- Experience with unit testing using JUnit, version control systems, and continuous integration and deployment practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments and knowledge of process frameworks such as CMMI.
- Secondary UI experience with AngularJS/Angular, React, HTML5, jQuery, JSON, JavaScript, Servlet, JSTL, AJAX, and CSS is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, team-building, client-facing, and technical delivery skills.
- Ability to connect technology decisions with measurable business value and maintain high-quality, error-free deliverables.
- Commercial acumen, enthusiasm for learning, flexibility, and willingness to work collaboratively.
