Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable, resilient backend services across multiple data regions.
- Design and implement AI/ML-assisted features for billing flows, including smart retry logic, dynamic pricing, and churn prevention.
- Integrate AI-assisted development tools, code-generation workflows, and automated testing into the software development lifecycle.
- Own a suite of Billing and Payment services and approve technical designs and architecture blueprints.
- Write extensible Python backend code and build observable systems using operational metrics and predictive telemetry.
- Mentor engineers on AI tooling, code quality, safety, and security practices.
Requirements
- 12+ years of backend application development experience, primarily in high-scale environments.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, AI agents, and automated test generators.
- Deep expertise designing production-grade APIs and microservices using Python and relational or non-relational databases.
- Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities or APIs into backend systems.
- Strong experience with e-commerce, global payment gateways, and subscription billing engines.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects, designing cloud-native AWS architectures, and using Kafka and Spark.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for mentoring engineers.
- Preferred: experience establishing AI-driven developer workflows or internal AI tooling.
- Preferred: experience with LangChain, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or LLM API integrations.
- Preferred: background in billing integrations, payment gateways, and enterprise financial platforms.
