Software Engineer, Officer
State StreetResponsibilities
- Build and maintain backend service-layer components, domain services, orchestration, and integrations.
- Implement authentication and authorization, request validation, error handling, and consistent API contracts.
- Develop data-access and persistence logic, optimize queries and data models, and support reliable SQL-store operations.
- Build event-driven, asynchronous messaging, batch, and streaming integrations.
- Develop and maintain React.js UI features using TypeScript and modern state-management patterns.
- Create reusable, accessible, and responsive UI components and integrate them with backend services.
- Perform client-side validation and error handling and collaborate with design and UX stakeholders.
- Apply unit and integration testing, code-quality practices, and modern DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across functions and geographies in a global technology organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign education equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience building secure and scalable service layers and REST APIs.
- Proficiency with one or more backend stacks, including Node.js with Express or NestJS, TypeScript, or Java with Spring Boot.
- Experience with React.js, modern JavaScript or TypeScript, component patterns, and API integration.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, or comparable databases and data modeling.
- Strong unit-testing and integration-testing discipline.
- Ability to analyze information quickly and independently and collaborate effectively across functions and geographies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; English proficiency is required.
- A master’s degree is strongly preferred.
