Base Salary

$176k - $260k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement platform services for workload provisioning, policy and guardrails, quotas, templates, golden paths, and lifecycle management.
  • Build Kubernetes-native automation, including custom controllers and operators.
  • Develop platform APIs, automation services, self-service workflows, multi-cluster tools, cluster onboarding, and configuration-standardization services.
  • Integrate platform services with identity, secrets, policy, observability, CMDB, and service-catalog patterns.
  • Implement CI/CD, testing, static analysis, release versioning, rollback strategies, and GitOps workflows for platform software.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure engineers to define reliability and performance requirements and reduce operational friction through automation.
  • Deliver secure, scalable, reliable production code and produce architecture, design, documentation, examples, and reference implementations.
  • Use and promote enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices with validation, traceability, auditability, and appropriate handling of sensitive operational data.

Requirements

  • Formal infrastructure engineering training or certification and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Experience delivering production services and production systems in Go and/or Python, with strong proficiency in at least one.
  • Knowledge of distributed-systems fundamentals, including API design, concurrency, failure modes, idempotency, retries, timeouts, and observability.
  • Production experience with Kubernetes and containers, including Kubernetes primitives, client libraries, manifests, Helm or Kustomize concepts, and deployment patterns.
  • Experience building platform software for OpenShift or Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD practices, GitOps patterns, and pipeline tooling such as Argo CD, Tekton, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience applying secure engineering practices, including authentication and authorization, secrets handling, and vulnerability-remediation workflows.
  • Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities in infrastructure engineering workflows, with the ability to validate recommendations and account for data sensitivity.
  • Preferred qualifications include OpenShift Operators, RBAC/SCC, routes and ingress, Go controller-runtime, internal developer platforms, portals, scaffolding, golden paths, policy-as-code, automation frameworks, SBOM/signing concepts, and multi-cluster platform strategy.
