Responsibilities
- Lead the production deployment, configuration, and validation of Data and AI solutions on Microsoft Azure and Databricks.
- Operate and monitor production data pipelines and AI models, managing alerts, troubleshooting, incident resolution, performance, and model drift.
- Implement and maintain MLOps and DataOps processes, including model versioning, CI/CD, scheduled retraining, and observability.
- Ensure production solutions follow Data Governance and Security standards, including Unity Catalog, Row-Level Security, and data lineage.
- Perform capacity planning, cloud cost optimization, platform migrations, replatforming, modernization, and architecture improvements.
- Coordinate with external suppliers, service-transition project teams, internal support groups, and other technical practices.
- Automate recurring provisioning, testing, release, and monitoring activities and maintain runbooks, operating procedures, and technical documentation.
- Evaluate and deploy AI and Generative AI tools to improve operational activities.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience in operational Data & AI roles such as Data Engineer, ML Engineer, Platform Engineer, DevOps/MLOps Engineer, or AI Operations Engineer in structured enterprise environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Databricks, including Lakehouse architectures, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and Workflows.
- Strong experience with MLOps tools, MLflow, Unity Catalog, and CI/CD practices for data pipelines and AI models.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Bash, and PowerShell scripting for operational automation.
- Experience with batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Spark Structured Streaming, and Kafka.
- Knowledge of modern data architectures, including Data Lakehouse, Data Mesh, and Data Warehouse.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools including Azure Monitor, Grafana, and Log Analytics.
- Experience with containers and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Generative AI solutions such as RAG, Vector Search, and AI Agents is preferred.
- Microsoft Azure or Databricks certifications are preferred.
- Strong ownership, operational autonomy, decision-making under pressure, documentation, troubleshooting, cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement, English communication, and willingness to travel periodically are required.
