Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain large-scale Java software applications and platform improvements.
- Design and implement scalable, high-availability backend systems for remote session signaling, connection negotiation, session state, streaming data paths, and communication reliability.
- Influence architectural decisions and balance technical debt, performance, scalability, and business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical decisions and engineering improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and establish technical standards and best practices.
- Own technical initiatives and proactively address challenges using data from support teams.
- Advocate for quality assurance practices and deliver robust, high-performance software.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Java software development, particularly for product applications.
- 5+ years of experience working with highly scalable systems.
- Proven experience scaling systems and solving complex system design challenges.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming design principles and practices.
- Expertise in API design and RESTful services, with experience using frameworks such as Spring.
- Proficiency in relational database design and development.
- Experience with caching systems.
- Data warehouse exposure and testing or automation tooling are a plus.
- English resume required and location in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, or Mexico.
