Responsibilities
- Lead technical overviews and solution discovery presentations for customer product and engineering stakeholders.
- Design and refine Marqeta solutions in partnership with Solutions Architects, Product Managers, and internal teams.
- Provide technical consulting and act as a bridge between customers and implementation teams.
- Support 20–30 customer opportunities through the sales process, including pricing discussions and contract negotiations.
- Explain Marqeta’s technology, competitive advantages, and integration process to customer technical influencers.
- Represent customer feedback through product development, beta testing, product-release training, and internal product-team collaboration.
- Drive internal knowledge sharing, process improvements, strategic initiatives, and identification of customer and market trends.
Requirements
- Typically requires 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a master’s degree, 3 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
- Ideally has 7 or more years of experience in Technology, Product, or Sales Engineering, preferably in payments or fintech.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, Postman, GraphQL, and XML.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills, including leading presentations and technical consulting sessions by video conference.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly, adapt to changing circumstances, develop creative solutions, prioritize work, and manage multiple projects.
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Understanding of fintech and payments, including acquiring, networks, point-of-sale, card issuing, and processing, is preferred.
- Experience writing technical statements of work or solution briefs and creating swimlane or flow diagrams in Lucidchart is preferred.
- Experience as a software developer and/or product manager is preferred.
