Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain complex native Android features and reusable SDK components using Kotlin.
- Lead technical design discussions, write technical specifications, and ensure modularity, scalability, and maintainability.
- Establish code-quality standards through code reviews, unit testing, UI testing, and continuous integration practices.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, QA, and backend platform teams to deliver Android solutions.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and share technical best practices.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in development workflows, Gradle build systems, and testing pipelines.
- Monitor Android, Kotlin, and Material Design developments and adopt relevant tools and frameworks.
Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in cloud, SaaS, or enterprise software environments.
- 5+ years of experience building production native Android applications and reusable Kotlin libraries backed by cloud APIs.
- Experience with modern Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, or Jetpack components, along with comprehensive unit and functional testing.
- Hands-on experience with Gradle, CI/CD automation, dependency management, and publishing applications to Google Play Store or libraries to package repositories.
- Track record of delivering complex technical initiatives iteratively within an Agile team.
- Preferred: experience developing, packaging, and distributing Android SDKs or binary libraries such as AARs through Maven distribution.
- Preferred: proficiency with Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, Jetpack Compose, and traditional layout architectures.
- Preferred: working knowledge of Java and experience with enterprise mobile security standards, OAuth/SSO integration, secure storage, and data encryption.
- Preferred: active Android community involvement through blogging, open-source contributions, or conference speaking.
