Base Salary
$123k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical aspects of software development for assigned personalization applications.
- Design and develop scalable batch and real-time personalization systems across the Enterprise Orchestration Platform.
- Write production code and unit tests, work on API specifications, automate processes, conduct code reviews, and perform testing.
- Support application availability, refactor code, identify innovative technologies, and deliver continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders on blueprints, annual planning, feature prioritization, and technical requirements.
- Serve as a senior engineer on an agile team and help drive consistent development practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence and ongoing technology evaluation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience building scalable enterprise applications and distributed systems.
- Strong experience designing cloud-native solutions on GCP using Java or Python and modern API-driven architectures.
- Experience building scalable batch and real-time data-processing solutions with Spark, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and GKE.
- Hands-on expertise in application design, microservices, automated testing, CI/CD, and cloud deployment patterns.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, system design, and distributed computing principles.
- Preferred experience with Devin AI, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
- Preferred experience with machine learning, analytical, or modeling platforms in batch or real-time environments.
- Ability to translate complex business problems into scalable technical solutions and collaborate across global teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and modern software engineering practices is preferred.
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
