Responsibilities
- Architect and develop RAG systems combining LLMs with structured and unstructured external information sources.
- Build AI-powered assistants that help industrial technicians diagnose and resolve anomalies and failures.
- Create pipelines to ingest, preprocess, and index large document corpora for semantic search and grounding.
- Customize and fine-tune foundational models for domain-specific industrial troubleshooting use cases.
- Collaborate with product, data, cloud, engineering, and domain teams on scalable, privacy-compliant, latency-sensitive LLM applications.
- Design production evaluation strategies covering system performance, accuracy, and user experience.
- Track advances in LLM architectures, retrieval methods, and prompt engineering and incorporate relevant techniques into the product roadmap.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field, specializing in NLP or deep learning.
- At least 5 years of machine learning or AI experience focused on NLP, LLMs, or conversational AI.
- Fluency with modern LLMs and open-source foundational models such as LLAMA, Falcon, Mistral, GPT, and Claude.
- Experience building production-grade RAG pipelines using LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom vector database integrations.
- Experience with prompt engineering, instruction tuning, or fine-tuning open-source models.
- Deep understanding of document retrieval, semantic search, embedding generation, similarity metrics, and vector stores.
- Strong machine learning foundation, including reinforcement learning or decision-making model experience.
- Proficiency with PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, or similar ML development frameworks, plus strong Python programming skills.
- Experience integrating AI systems into real-world applications with user-facing interfaces and operational constraints.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, written communication, verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Agentic RAG experience is highly desirable.
- Experience applying LLMs in industrial or physical infrastructure settings is a bonus.
- Knowledge of industrial control systems, maintenance workflows, or technician support processes is a bonus.
- Exposure to multimodal models or combining textual data with sensor or time-series data is a bonus.
- Startup experience building LLM-powered products from the ground up is a bonus.
